Stewed Pork Neck In Tomato Sauce
Pork neck is one of my favorite part of meat. In my opinion, this is the best pork neck recipe I have ever eaten. Easy to make, all ingredients are available and the taste of this aromatic dish will satisfy all hungry household members 🙂
Ingredients:
1 kg of pork neck
300 g mushrooms, sliced
2 medium onions, sliced
4 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 red pepper, cut into large cubes
2 teaspoons of mustard
10 tablespoons of spicy ketchup
3 teaspoons of tomato paste
½ a glass of water
1 teaspoon of marjoram
1 teaspoon of sweet pepper
pepper and salt
2-3 tablespoons of oil plus for frying
Preparation:
Wash the pork neck, dry it and cut it into slices. Smash them with a pestle. Mix 2-3 tablespoons of oil with marjoram, sweet paprika, salt and pepper. Mix the meat thoroughly with the marinade and leave it in the refrigerator for a few hours (preferably overnight). Then fry the meat on both sides over high heat. Place the meat in an ovenproof dish (the dish does not need any greasing, as vegetables and meat will give off a lot of juices). Put slices of mushrooms and diced peppers on the pork neck. Put the chopped onion on top. In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, mustard, garlic, tomato paste, and water. Spread the sauce evenly over the top of the dish. Cover the dish and bake for about 70 minutes at 170ºC. After this time, remove the cover and bake another 15-20 minutes. Serve with potatoes or rice 🙂
Enjoy!
