Sweet and sour sauce is often associated with Asian cuisine, but has many fans in other parts of the world. In Poland, people love this sauce, so in addition to the previously prepared tenderloin, I also decided to prepare delicious, juicy meatballs. Making meatballs is simple, with the addition of sweet and sour sauce, pineapples and red pepper, we get a delicious dish for the whole family 🙂

Ingredients:

500 g ground pork
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium sized onion, minced
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 large egg
3 tablespoons powdered bread
1 red onion, cubed
1 red bell pepper, cubed
1 medium sized carrots, chopped
1 cup pineapple chunks
1 tablespoon vinegar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
½ cup water
1 tablespoon flour
oil for frying

Procedure:

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, half of minced garlic and onion, salt ground pepper, egg and powdered bread. Mix thoroughly. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of mixture and form into a ball shape. Set aside. Heat a ¼ cup of oil into a pan over a medium heat. Fry the meatballs around until brown. Place into a paper towel to remove excess oil. Set aside. Heat another pan and pour 2 tablespoon of oil. Saute left garlic, cubed red onion, carrots and bell pepper for 5 minutes. Add pineapple chunks and cook for 1-2 minutes. Pour in vinegar, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar and mix. Pour in water and let it boil. Seperate a half of liquid into a glass to cool and dissolve the flour. Add the fried meatballs. Pour the flour mixture into the pan to thicken the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with rice or potatoes 🙂

Enjoy!
