American red velvet has many different types which you can easily make in the kitchen, and here I will use this flavour to serve a crepe with a beautiful maroon color. A sweet breakfast or snack with whipped cream, drizzled with chocolate and delicious strawberries that will make the whole day wonderful 🙂


1 cup flour
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 large egg (at room temperature)
3 tablespoon butter, softened
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon red liquid food coloring
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
whipped cream
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
20 g semi-sweet melted dark chocolate
powder sugar (optional)


Sift in flour and cocoa powder in a big mixing bowl. Add salt and sugar and mix using a spoon to combine. Add eggs, butter and milk and mix using a hand mixer. Pour in vanilla and food coloring. Mix until well combined and turn into smooth batter. Heat a non-stick pan over a medium heat. Spray with oil. Once hot, pour a ½ half cup of batter into the pan. Swirl the pan from side to side to create an even circle. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side. Transfer into a serving dish. Put cream and chopped strawberries and fold. You can add more cream and sliced strawberries on top if desired. Drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle with powdered sugar 🙂
