Fat Thursday is a day associated with donuts, so I decided to prepare a donut burger. Crazy? Nothing could be more wrong, because beef perfectly harmonizes with sweet additions such as apple sauce and onion confit, and the yeast donut perfectly emphasizes the taste of this dish. For this slightly salty bacon and a brilliant dish perfect for Fat Thursday 🙂

Ingredients:

2 donuts with icing, preferably prepared without jam (recipe)
2 tablespoons red onion confiture (recipe)
2 tablespoons of applesauce (recipe)
400 g of ground beef
2 slices of yellow cheese
2 tomato slices
2 pieces of curly lettuce
2 slices of smoked bacon
salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:

Season the minced meat with plenty of salt and pepper, mix thoroughly and form 2 burgers. Preheat an electric grill or grill pan, and when they are hot, arrange the burgers. Fry on each side for 5-7 minutes. Halfway through frying, add the bacon and fry until crispy. At the end of grilling your patty, place the cheese on it and heat it until it melts. Cut the donuts into half. Spread the apple sauce evenly on the bottom, place the lettuce, patty with melted cheese, tomato, onion confit and bacon on top. Top with the other half of the donut. Eat it right away while it’s warm 🙂

Enjoy!
