Strawberry Dumplings
Easy to prepare, light, dietary and extremely delicious dumplings are the perfect idea for a lunch for the whole family. Such dumplings can be prepared from frozen strawberries, but they are much better from fresh fruit, for which we wait all year round 🙂
Stuffing:
Ingredients:
500 g of strawberries, cut into large cubes
sugar if the strawberries are not sweet, optional
Dough for dumplings:
Ingredients:
350 g of wheat flour sifted through a strainer
35 g of butter
125 ml of water
1 egg
pinch of salt
flour to sprinkle the countertop
Preparation:
Add butter to the boiling water to melt it. Mix the flour with salt and pour a mixture of water and butter into it, stirring constantly. Add the egg and mix the ingredients. Sprinkle the table top with flour and knead the dough for 5 minutes until uniform. Cover with foil so that it does not dry out and set aside for 30 minutes to let the dough rest. Sprinkle the table top with flour and roll out a piece of dough to a thickness of about 2mm (keep the remaining dough covered so that it does not dry out). Using a glass or a round dish, cut a circle out of the dough and put the strawberries in it. Tuck the edges together carefully, being careful not to let the strawberries fall out. You can put dumplings on the pastry board. During this time, boil the water with a large pinch of salt. When the water is gently bubbling, add the dumplings in batches. Cook them for 2 minutes after it flows out (to be sure, you can cut one dumpling to check if the dough is already soft). Serve with cream or yoghurt and possibly sugar 🙂
Enjoy!
