A classic Filipino dish that easy to make with a savory taste of soy sauce and vinegar. This chicken recipe is one of the famous dish that is mostly introduced by Filipinos. I have a nice memory for this dish, because it is the first dish I have prepared for my husband in his first visit in Philippines 🙂

Ingredients:

7-8 pieces of chicken (legs and thigh)
ginger (sliced)
2 garlic cloves (crushed)
1 medium red onion (sliced)
â…“ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp vinegar (adjust it to your taste)
salt and pepper
sweet chili pepper
2-3 bay leaves
3 pepper balls
½ cup of chicken broth
½ tsp of sugar
2 tbsp vegetable oil

Procedure:

Marinate the chicken in soy sauce, vinegar, sweet chili powder, salt, pepper and a half of sliced ginger, half of crushed garlic and half of sliced onion for an hour. Heat a deep pan, fry left ginger, garlic and onion. Add the chicken and fry it in each side. Add the chicken broth, bay leaf, pepper balls and sugar. Cover and cook for 45 minutes. Serve it with a rice.
