This spring cookie bar is a great Easter dessert especially for kids. It also works great as a classic weekend delicacy for an afternoon dessert. A sugar cookie dough topped with colorful candies and white chocolate chunks that looks so cute and yummy!

Ingredients:

1 ½ cup flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
113 g butter, at room temperature
50 g granulated sugar
100 g brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup chocolate colored candies plus more for toppings
½ cup white chocolate chunks or white chocolate chips plus more for toppings

Procedure:

Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Line an 8 inches square baking tin with foil. Spray foil lightly with oil. Set aside. In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking soda and salt and set aside. In another bowl, beat butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time stirring well after each addition. Add in vanilla extract and continue to beat for 2 minutes. Slowly add in the flour mixture and mix into a low speed until well combined. Fold in chocolate colored candies and white chocolate chunks. Transfer the cookie dough in the prepared baking tin. Additionally top some candies and white chocolate chunks. Bake for 30 minutes or color turns into light brown. Do not over bake, bars should be soft in the center. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Cut into squares and serve 🙂
