Santa Claus Butter Cookies
Butter cookies are a great option for carving out a variety of shapes and making your own decorations. They can be used to create Christmas trees, Santa Claus faces or cute Peppa Pig cookies. Simple, delicious, crispy, eye-catching, perfect for a festive table 🙂
Ingredients:
Cookies:
300 g of wheat flour sifted through a strainer
1 cold egg
150 g of cold butter, cut into small cubes
35 g of powdered sugar
1 level teaspoon of baking powder
pinch of salt
Frosting:
icing or confectioners’ sugar
water
food dyes
Procedure:
Cookies:
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and knead them by hand (you can also use a food processor). Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for at least an hour. Sprinkle the dough board with flour. Knead the cold dough a little and roll it out to a thickness of about half a centimeter on a previously prepared pastry board. Use a glass to cut out round shapes (of course, you can choose any shape, it all depends on your imagination and creativity :). Line the cutted shapes at small intervals on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top – bottom heater) and bake the biscuits for 10-12 minutes, until they are lightly golden. Repeat the process for the remaining dough. After baking, allow the cookies to cool down.
Frosting:
Mix powdered sugar with water to obtain the frosting. If you want thick frosting, add more powdered sugar, if thin, add water. Mix the frosting with the food coloring and gently decorate the cookies with a kitchen sleeve 🙂
Enjoy!
