Spare ribs with sesame seeds
I have never met a person who doesn’t like ribs, and this recipe is special for me, because this is how my mom prepared for us, and now I prepare them for my family. The dish is rich in many flavors, from sweet pineapple, to light salty soy sauce, to light spice from ketchup. A simple recipe with simple ingredients and the ribs comes out juicy, tender and aromatic until they melt in your mouth 🙂
Ingredients:
½ kilo spare ribs
½ cup pineapple juice
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp crushed garlic
1 tbsp crushed ginger
½ cup ketchup (can be spicy)
1 tbsp sesame oil
salt and pepper
flour (for coating)
oil
sesame seeds
Procedure:
In a big mixing bowl put the pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, ground black pepper, garlic and ginger. Mix until the sugar is dissolve. Add the spare ribs and marinate for an hour. After an hour put the marinated spare ribs together with the sauce in a pot over a medium heat. Cover and bring to boil for about 40 minutes or until the meat is tender. Get the meat from the sauce and coat it with flour and fry until lightly brown and set aside. Transfer the remaining sauce into a frying pan. Add ketchup and season with salt and pepper. Add sesame oil, mix and let it boil. Put-in the spare ribs and mix until the sauce became caramelize and sprinkle some sesame seeds. Transfer to a dish and topped with onion grass. Serve with rice and your favorite salad 🙂
Enjoy!
