Pita
Pita is a round simple bread that serves as a pocket for your favorite meat and vegetarian stuffings or additions. Simple preparation and easily available ingredients creates a fresh, yummy and flavorful homemade bread. Also great as a simple snack without any additives 🙂
Ingredients:
400 g of wheat flour
5 g of dried yeast
200 ml of warm water
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Procedure:
Pour all ingredients into a bowl and mix. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is uniformed and smooth. Transfer the dough into a bowl and cover with a cloth. Leave to rise in a warm place for 90 minutes. After this time, transfer the dough onto a lightly floured pastry board. Knead the dough for a while, divide it into 6 equal pieces, form a smooth ball. Roll out the balls into a cake about 15 cm in size. Remember that there should be flour on the counter so that the dough does not stick. Cover the dough with a cloth and let them rise for another half an hour. After this time, heat the pan (without oil) over a medium heat. When the pan is hot enough, put the dough and fry on each side for about 2 minutes, until nice golden-brown bubbles are formed. Pita is ready to eat or you can make a pocket and stuff with your favorite stuffings 🙂
Enjoy!
