Lumpia Shanghai / Spring Rolls
A Filipino-style spring rolls that is hit in every occasion or even in an ordinary day. This deep-fried appetizer is prepared from pork and vegetables filling (but can be also from beef or chicken) with a thin and crispy crepe wrapper that it tastes great in every version. The perfect appetizer or snack for any time of the day, it tastes great both hot and cold 🙂
Ingredients:
500g ground pork
1 red onion, minced
2 cloves garlic,minced
2 medium carrots, minced
5-7 tbsp soy sauce
1 egg
2 tbsp marjoram
3 tbsp powdered bread
salt and pepper
oil for frying
lumpia wrapper
Procedure:
Put all the ingredients in a big mixing bowl. Mix it well together using by hands. Put a 1-2 tbsp of meat mixture towards the bottom side of the wrapper. Turn up the bottom to hold the meat. Gently fold it from side to side and make sure that the meat is packed. Continue rolling. Dip finger in water and pat it into the remaining corner to close and finish rolling. Repeat process until you finish all meat mixture. Fry and serve with sweet and spicy sauce or vinegar with garlic 🙂
