Łazanki is a very popular dish in Polish cuisine. Together with cabbage, sausage, bacon and mushrooms, they make a really tasty, aromatic and interesting dish that is really worth preparing and eating afterwards 🙂

Ingredients:

250 g of Quadretti pasta, cooked according to the instructions on the package
400 g of smoked sausage, cut into crescents
4 large mushrooms, sliced
100 g of smoked bacon, finely diced
1 large onion, diced
400 g of sauerkraut or fermented cabbage
2 bay leaves
3 balls of allspice
salt and pepper to taste
500 ml of water

Procedure:

Put the sauerkraut or cabbage, allspice and bay leaves into the pot, pour water, cover the pot and cook for about 25 minutes until the cabbage is tender. Put the cabbage in a colander and allow to cool, after it has cooled down, remove the bay leaves and allspice, squeeze the water out of the cabbage and chop finely. Preheat the pan and add the bacon. When the fat has slightly melted, add the onion and mushrooms. Fry together for about 10 minutes. Stir in the sausage and simmer together for about 20 minutes. Add the cabbage and fry together for 5 minutes. Add the pasta and mix everything thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
