Homemade Churros
Churros is a very popular snack around the world. A long rod with a star shaped fried in deep oil and dipped in melted chocolate which is a yummy snack for everyone. Easily available ingredients and simple workmanship, and the taste really great 🙂
Ingredients:
140 g flour
1 large egg
1 tablespoon sugar
¼ cup butter, cubed
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
250 ml water
2 cups oil for frying
¼ cup sugar, for coating
½ cup ground cinnamon, for coating
Procedure:
Prepare and mix together sugar and cinnamon for the coating and place into a dish, set aside. Heat the oil in a large pot over a medium heat. At this time start preparing the batter. In a deep saucepan, pour in the water, butter, salt and sugar. Bring to a boil over a medium heat. Add flour and reduce the heat into low heat. Stir occasionally until it connect together. Let it cool. Place into a mixing bowl. Pour in vanilla extract and egg. Mix until well-combined and turns into a smooth batter. Put batter in a piping bag with a star tip. Slowly pipe a 3 inches batter into the pot with reheated oil and carefully cut the end with scissors or knife. Fry until it turns to a golden brown. Place in a plate with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Coat with sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place in a serving dish with melted chocolate dip. Serve 🙂
