Valentine’s Day is a special day for lovers when couples try to show their love more. In my opinion, it is worth showing your love all year round, not just one day. A delicious chocolate heart-shaped cookie is the perfect hand-made gift for the person you love and is worth making not only on Valentine’s Day, but also as a surprise on an ordinary day 🙂

Ingredients:

50 g dark chocolate, chopped
3 tablespoons butter, melted
30 g granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
3 tablespoon flour
fresh strawberries
powdered sugar for dusting

Procedure:

Prepare two ramekins. Grease each ramekin with butter and lightly dust with flour. In a saucepan, add about 1 inch of water and bring it to a simmer. Place a glass bowl that will fit on it and that will not touch the bottom of a saucepan or you can use a double boiler. Place the chopped chocolates into a glass bowl and whisk until melted. Turn off the heat but do not remove the bowl into the saucepan to keep the batter warm. Add in the melted butter and sugar and whisk until completely dissolved. Whisk in the egg until smooth. Add in the cocoa powder and flour and whisk until well combined. Spoon the batter evenly into each ramekin. Place into the freezer for 30 minutes. By this time, preheat the oven to 200°C. Put the ramekins straight to the oven and bake for 15-16 minutes. The high oven temperature cooks the sides of the cakes but the center is gooey and soft. Remove from the oven and carefully flip the cakes upside-down into serving plates. Add sliced strawberries of your favorite toppings and dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder 🙂

Enjoy!
