Perfect idea for a delicious decoration during Christmas. It consists of gingerbread dough, icing and favorite sweets or candies that look wonderful and colorful. The whole family will definitely enjoy and have fun decorating and be delighted with such a treat ๐Ÿ™‚

Cake:

Ingredients:

250 g of honey
250 g sugar (preferably cane)
100 g of butter
600 g of wheat flour
4 teaspoons of gingerbread spice
1 tablespoon of cocoa
1 tablespoon of baking soda
2 tablespoons of water
1 large egg, at room temperature

Procedure:

Put honey, sugar and butter in a saucepan and heat it over low heat. When all the ingredients have dissolved and merge into a homogeneous mass, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool down. When the mass is cool, add the egg and mix thoroughly. Sift the flour into one bowl along with the cocoa and gingerbread spices. Mix everything thoroughly. Mix the water with the baking soda and add it to the flour. Now add the honey mixture to the flour, mix thoroughly and knead the dough until smooth. Wrap in cling film and leave for several hours into the fridge. After this time, remove the cake from the refrigerator and leave it at room temperature for at least half an hour. After this time, knead the dough for a bit to soften and easy to roll. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Prepare 2 baking sheets lined with paper. Roll out the dough evenly on one baking tray and put in an oven preheated to 160ยบC (hot air) for 15 minutes. During this time, prepare the second baking tray in the same way as the first. When the dough is ready, cut out the right shapes immediately, because after a while the dough will harden and it will be more difficult to cut. It is best to prepare paper templates for cutting out shapes. I made the roof parts 16×15 cm, the base is 18×29 cm, the side walls are 16×10 cm, and the front and rear walls have a base 10 cm high and 16 cm wide, and the height of the triangle is 11 cm – the height of the house is 21 cm. I also cut out windows 5×5 cm wide. From the rest of the cake, you can prepare various decorations, a chimney or whatever you like.

Edible Sugar Glass for Windows

Ingredients:

10-12 hard candy of the same color
3-4 tablespoons of water

Procedure:

Dissolve the ingredients in a saucepan, stirring constantly. Place the prepared or cutted wall cookies with windows on the baking paper. When the candy is completely dissolved (after about 10 minutes), quickly pour the mass into the window and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Tear off the baking paper.

Icing and wall joining:

200 g of powdered sugar
1 protein

Procedure:

Beat egg white until fluffy and stiff. Gradually add the icing sugar, whisking constantly. Using the resulting icing, glue the walls to the base, and then the roof to the walls. Or you can cut and glue the door.
